Book Review: Diary of a Wimpy Kid 6: Cabin Fever

For this journal-like realistic fiction 6th entry of a popular series created for limited-mind adolescents from 9-14.? 4 out of 10. No offense, but Jeff Kinney has made 4 books besides this one already, earned millions, does he really need to make another book? Personally, it's starting to seem like he's starting to throw stuff together so as to not dissapoint his many fans (which is slowly diminishing). For the first Wimpy Kid I would've given it 8.5 out of 10. Second, third, and fourth? I got sick. He just changed the names of a few things took out and threw in just a few things into the plot. The plot of Cabin Fever was more altered than the others but not as lengthy. Nothing seems to change in the characters, as well. The Heffley brothers argue relentlessly, Greg does bad in school and has friend problems, and Christmas is a disaster. Really, the only notable change was Greg's trouble with the winter weather.

So here's the basic story plot: The local school is vandalized and Greg is accused of prosecuting the vandalization. He's later trapped in the house with his "problem" family and no electricity due to a freak snowstorm. See? Even when I say it the plot is way too short. Not Kinney's best work. Cheap comedy put into a plot with somewhat crudely drawn stick figures. I am crossing my fingers for Kinney not to make another book. Totally not worth it.
